Autie Zombie Girl invades Fear Project

It has been quite awhile since I’ve written anything at all, here. It’s been a pretty wacky ride since the last time I posted. I turned 45 this past year. Which in and of itself is nothing spectacular, but I did get to go to Chicago for my birthday and see Liverpool play. The lads even won!

Go Liverpool edit  Wee Geek and me at Soldier Field getting ready to see the game.

After that, the summer raced by and September came. I had looked forward to Context all year and finally I got to go! Context was a great convention. Full of great writers, great workshops, and great friends old and new. I even got to meet Jonathan Maberry. Which made the entire trip worth it!  I can’t say enough about his kick ass fight scenes class.  I learned a lot and got to talk with lots of different people.

The end of the year came way too soon and I looked back at the year wondering how closely I came to accomplishing my goals. I finally decided that I did great. My real goal was to be brave and send things out to things that weren’t Post Mortem Press. Even though, nothing I shopped was bought, I did send out two stories to several places and got rejected several times. Yay me!  I did get another non-fiction article in Jamais Vu 3. If you are interested in the Slenderman, then this article is for you.

So, onto my bravery from this year, I ended the year with a bang on New Year’s and submitted a short little piece to David Wellington’s Fear Project. And guess what, kids? I made it in. So this is the big news.

You can learn about the Fear project at http://davidwellingtonsfearproject.com. It’s basically this. 13 Authors were chosen from 250 word submission pieces on the scariest thing that they could think of. Every week starting February 1st, we will write something based on a set of parameters posted by David Wellington on the Fear Project website. Every week someone will be eliminated. At the end of 13 weeks, one author will remain. That author gets $1000 and an as yet undisclosed secret prize. Me? I sort of hope it’s a leg lamp.  Can you think of a more awesome prize?

So, my ever faithful readers, go check out the Fear project. Read what we all contribute. Comment on the ones you love or even the ones you hate. Comments get us immunity. I have no immune system, people. Give a little zombie girl a few comments.
